LegendEventCenterHaving opened in December 2022, Legends Event Center is a state-of-the-art indoor sporting and event facility located in the heart of Travis Bryan Midtown Park in Bryan, Texas. The 122,300-square-foot venue, the largest of its kind in the region, is a destination hub for volleyball, basketball, cheer and dance, wrestling, pickleball, futsal and so much more in the Lone Star State.

A Top-Notch Facility

Legends Event Center features a 65,000-square-foot event floor with maple wood courts, designed to accommodate 16 volleyball courts and eight overlapping basketball courts with backboards, nets and referee stands, all suspended from the ceilings for convenient use as needed.

The space can be utilized for a variety of activities including gymnastic competitions, wrestling meets, pickleball tournaments, archery, cheer and dance competitions, boxing matches, futsal games, martial arts championships, esports conventions, trade shows, markets, meetings, and other special events. The facility also has the latest technology, including 12 LED video boards, 32 televisions and five projector screens.

“Legends Event Center puts Bryan at the center of the map when it comes to providing premier indoor sports opportunities in the heart of the Texas Triangle. Not only does Legends allow us to provide the best facilities in the region for sports teams, but it also gives local athletes high-quality places to train and compete,” says Bryan Mayor Andrew Nelson.

In addition to the volleyball/basketball court space, Legends Event Center boasts a concessions area directly overlooking the courts, and three large birthday party/meeting rooms will adjoin a modern gaming arena equipped with popular arcade games and featuring a virtual reality area. There is also an esports lounge with 18 computers and monitors, along with spectator seating.

A versatile, 5,500-square-foot flex/meeting space, located past the courts and event floor, can be set up to host large banquets, holiday parties and award ceremonies, or it can be partitioned into five smaller spaces using wall dividers, with each room having a large drop-down projector screen on the wall as well as access to the outdoor patio overlooking the lake just 50 yards away.

The venue also provides an artificial turf space, and this 2,500-square-foot area is ideal for group activities such as performance training, yoga and other group exercise activities, as well as supplemental birthday party package space.

Food For Thought

Each event held at Legends Event Center has the opportunity to have its program catered in-house. The venue’s world-class catering kitchen is conveniently located near the flex/meeting space at the end of the courts and event floor, offering quick access for meals to be brought out to attendees. Event organizers in need of catering services can opt to have their events catered by one of the many preferred vendors of Legends Event Center. The preferred vendor list will include many of the popular and unique dining options exclusive to the Bryan community.

Many programs and organizations are currently in discussions with Legends Event Center to host their tournaments and events and/or with the intentions of calling the venue their training home. For example, once the facility opens, the Houston Skyline BCS Volleyball Club, an affiliate of Houston Skyline, has secured Legends as its training home and will be utilizing the court space weekly. Houston Skyline BCS is the premier volleyball club in the Brazos Valley and is the only club in the Brazos Valley that is part of League One Volleyball. This affiliation allows competitive volleyball players in the Brazos Valley to train locally and receive access to the best health resources, scholarships, recruiting resources, and pathways to volleyball careers in the U.S.

“We are thrilled about the opportunity to train in the Legends facility,” says Kacie Street, executive director of Houston Skyline BCS. “The court space and facility amenities will allow the sport of volleyball to grow within the community as we are able to provide training not only for our competitive club teams, but also youth programs for volleyball players who are just starting out in the sport.”

The excitement for this facility is shared by another local organization, Vette City Events, working in conjunction with Houston Skyline BCS, which has also secured Legends Event Center as its destination for tournaments. “We are ecstatic about bringing multiple large-scale volleyball tournaments to Legends Event Center in 2023,” says Andy Cavins, tournament director of Vette City Events.

In addition to providing a training ground for competitive club teams, the facility provides an excellent opportunity to implement local youth programing. Local organizations are able to utilize Legends Event Center to fill a previous void in the Bryan community, as a venue of this caliber is unmatched in the nearby area. Legends Event Center provides an outlet for new and experienced athletes to grow as competitors and helps lay the pathway to successful athletic careers and a lifelong love of sports.

Already Hosting Events

Legends Event Center began hosting a variety of athletic competitions in early 2023. The roster includes Battle on the Brazos Volleyball Tournament and MaXout East Texas-Maximum Cheer and Dance (both in February), and B/CS Bash Volleyball Tournament in March.
