What can Simi Valley host? Maybe the question should be this: What CAN’T Simi Valley host? With multiple venues and a great climate, this area can really deliver. From field sports to golf to bowling to ice sports and beyond, Simi Valley is more than ready to give your events a place to play, and the Visit Simi Valley team is here to explain why, where and how.

It’s easy to get there: Simi Valley is situated in Southeast Ventura County, adjacent to the San Fernando Valley and 37 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, making it a part of the Greater Los Angeles area. Simi Valley's main artery, the 118 Freeway (Ronald Reagan Freeway), can be accessed by Interstate 5, Interstate 405 and the 210 Freeway in the east and by the 23 Freeway in the west. The 23 Freeway connects to the 101 Freeway. And with about 70 carriers making regular flights into LAX (plus additional access through Van Nuys Airport and Bob Hope Airport), there’s no shortage of travel options.

Plenty of Places to Stay: The Simi Valley area is home to multiple hotels in a variety of price points and luxury levels.

The sports venues are amazing: No matter what your athletes are playing, they can play in Simi Valley. The city is known for its state-of-the art sport facilities for adult and youth sports tournaments. Gymnastics, football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, figure skating, ice hockey and more can play here. Here are a few specific examples:

Pickleball: Simi Valley has multiple options for pickleball play, including Lemon Park – Rancho Tapo Community Park; Duck Park – Rancho Simi Community Park and Sinaloa Middle School.

Golf: Sinaloa Golf Course, Simi Hills Golf Course and Wood Ranch Golf Club are all ready to host, so here’s a quick breakdown:

Sinaloa is a nine-hole, public golf course that has been open to the public since 1958. It has a par 27 layout that plays 1088 yards from the back tees. Beginning to more experienced golfers will enjoy that course which has bunkers on seven of the nine holes.
Simi Hills Golf Course, owned by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, is an 18-hole facility designed by Ted Robinson. The par 71 championship golf course, voted the Reader’s Choice Winner by the Ventura County Star, has received 3.5 stars from Golf Digest as a top place to play.
The 18-hole Wood Ranch Golf Club offers a 72-par, 6,972-yard links-style layout, designed by Ted Robinson. This lush fairway features lakes, creeks, streams and vegetation as well as stunning views of the Conejo Valley. In the past the club has been host to the 1987 and 1988 GT Senior Class and the 2000 Los Angeles Women’s Open.

Disc Golf: Can’t forget this one! The Sycamore Park Disc Golf Course is located within the boundaries of the park. Formerly a campsite for the Chumash residents of Simi Valley, and known for its Elephant Rock formation, the park contains myriad other activity options, including two baseball backstops, a basketball court and even a small climbing wall. The park also has picnic tables and benches.

Archery: The Conejo Valley Archers have an excellent facility that hosts competition at various levels, including JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development).

Ice Sports: Ice hockey, figure skating, curling and other sports are hot in Simi Valley. The Iceoplex, an indoor venue, is available throughout the year.

Bowling: Two facilities, Harley’s Valley Bowl and Harley’s Simi Bowl, stand ready to host competitions – or just to provide a fun way for visiting athletes to let off steam when the games are done.

Trails: Simi Valley has happy trails for you! Whether you want a venue for running, cycling, equestrian or even just walking and sightseeing, you’ll find one to fill the bill. Check out the Stagecoach Trail, Mt. McCoy Trail, Rocky Peak Trail, Las Llajas Canyon Trail, Long Canyon Trail, Hummingbird Creek Trail, Chumash Park & Trail and the Arroyo Simi Equestrian Trail.
