For event planners searching for a destination that blends top-tier facilities, effortless access and unforgettable off-the-field experiences, Billings, Montana is emerging as a standout choice in the Northwest.
With major new venues opening this year, a growing support system for sports tourism and a location that makes travel easy for participants and spectators alike, Billings is ready to deliver events that are as seamless as they are memorable.
A Growing Portfolio of Championship-Ready Facilities
Billings’ sports infrastructure continues to expand with the addition of two highly anticipated, year-round venues opening in 2026.

The Signal Peak Energy Arena, opening this spring, is a state-of-the-art twin-sheet ice facility designed to host hockey, figure skating, curling and multi-use events. The complex features seating for approximately 2,000 spectators around its marquee rink, multiple locker rooms, flexible community spaces and on-site amenities including a full-service restaurant and bar.
The arena will also become home to a new Tier II junior hockey team competing in the National Collegiate Development Conference beginning this fall—further cementing Billings’ growing reputation as an ice sports destination.
Next door at the Amend Recreation Campus, the ARC Sports Courts will offer 57,000 square feet of indoor space, including approximately 50,000 square feet of usable court area.
Opening this summer, this facility will offer a highly flexible layout capable of accommodating basketball, volleyball and multi-sport events. The ARC adds significant capacity for large-scale indoor tournaments and provides year-round scheduling opportunities regardless of weather.

These new facilities add exciting new footprints at the campus, which is mostly used by Amend Park, a 60-acre premier outdoor fields complex with up to 11 full-size soccer fields, including 10 grass fields and one lighted, premium turf championship field with bleachers, making it ideal for multi-day soccer tournaments and field sports events.
The First Interstate Arena stands as the region’s largest indoor arena, offering 10,000 seats and flexible configurations for court sports, wrestling, gymnastics and large spectator-driven competitions. It is the largest arena not only in Montana, but across the entire Northwest Rocky Mountain region.
Baseball and softball events shine at Dehler Park and Stewart Park. Dehler Park, home of the Billings Mustangs, will host a highly anticipated three-game Banana Ball series this August featuring the Party Animals and the Firefighters—the smallest venue Banana Ball will play in nationwide this year.

Stewart Park offers nine fields and tournament-friendly layouts, including Joe Pirtz Field, a turf in-field/grass-outfield facility that is a longtime hub for American Legion baseball.
Meanwhile, Daylis Stadium is undergoing a $14.9 million renovation that will bring a brand-new west grandstand, increasing total seating capacity to 5,200.
The project also includes a new 10-lane track capable of hosting state and regional meets, along with major upgrades to concessions, locker rooms and entryways, positioning Daylis Stadium as a premier track and field and outdoor competition venue.
Easy to Get Here—and Easy to Get Around

Accessibility is one of Billings’ strongest advantages. Located at the intersection of I-90 and I-94, the city offers straightforward driving access for teams traveling from across the region.
For those flying in, Billings Logan International Airport provides daily nonstop service to Seattle, Portland, Denver, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis and Dallas, with other nonstop destinations including Las Vegas, Phoenix and Chicago.
Once in town, planners benefit from a compact, navigable city. Billings offers more than 5,000 hotel rooms, many within walking distance of sports venues, restaurants and entertainment, making logistics simpler for athletes, families and staff.
An Unforgettable Off-the-Field Experience
Beyond the venues, Billings offers access to some of the most iconic landscapes and historical sites in the country. Visitors are within easy reach of Yellowstone National Park via the legendary Beartooth Highway, widely regarded as one of the most scenic drives in North America.

The city is also close to Little Bighorn Battlefield and Pompey's Pillar National Monument, offering rich historical experiences that turn tournaments into full destination trips.
Support That Elevates Every Event
A key differentiator for Billings is the newly formed Billings Sports Authority, powered by Visit Billings. This dedicated team works exclusively to support sporting events of all sizes, offering assistance with facility coordination, volunteer sourcing and available financial incentives.
From the earliest planning stages to event execution, the Sports Authority helps ensure each event runs smoothly and leaves a lasting impression on participants.
