In the heart of Mississippi, there is a city where sports aren't just a weekend schedule. They’re part of everyday life.
Known as the "Hub City" for its central location and "Baseburg" for its deep-rooted baseball obsession, Hattiesburg has become the Sports Hub of the Gulf South for regional and national tournaments.
From the roar of the crowd at collegiate baseball playoffs to the final whistle of championship soccer, Hattiesburg is where competition meets hospitality and where champions happen.
A Legacy of Performance
Hattiesburg’s reputation as a sports powerhouse is built on a foundation of elite facilities and the versatility to support events year-round.
The city is home to two major institutions, The University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University, providing both a collegiate atmosphere and high-caliber youth and recreational venues that elevate any event.
Hattiesburg has a solid track record of top-level performances across a wide range of sports and has proven its ability to manage large-scale national competitions with precision.

Whether hosting the NCAA Super Regionals at Pete Taylor Park, NAIA postseason play at William Carey, or high-stakes youth tournaments featuring more than 200 soccer teams, the local infrastructure is designed to handle the demands of championship play.
Game-Changing Growth: The Hub City Event Center
Hattiesburg is significantly advancing its sports offerings with the Hattiesburg Recreation & Sports Event Center.
More than a new 117,000 square foot facility, it is a game changer that will redefine how indoor sports, tournaments and events are hosted across the region beginning in spring 2028.

Designed for both competition and flexibility, the state-of-the-art complex will feature multiple high-performance courts for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and indoor soccer, along with adaptable space for gymnastics, cheer and other events, modern spectator seating and professional-grade scoreboards.
More than just a venue, it will be a year-round sports destination, elevating competition in the Gulf South and positioning Hattiesburg as the new standard for indoor athletic events.
