With our state-of-the-art facilities, 16 hotels, 65 restaurants and numerous attractions, we are well-equipped and ready to help you plan and host your sporting event.

Whether you need a venue to facilitate your tournament, a host hotel to accommodate both your teams and your fans, or recommendations on the best places to dine, explore or play, the Visit Effingham staff is available to connect you with the right resources to ensure your event is a success!

EffinghamEffingham boasts a variety of options for athletes and their families both on the field and off… For example, our newest facility, The Richard E. Workman Sports and Wellness Complex, provides several avenues of recreation, including a 15,500-square-foot maple hardwood court, an indoor track, an aquatic center and a fitness center. Effingham also offers plenty of other options for sporting events, outside of our Sports Complex, including several parks run by the Effingham Park District, which feature lighted softball and baseball diamonds, tennis courts, soccer fields, disc golf courses and cross-country courses.

Some of Effingham’s off-the-field diversions include unique dining experiences like Firefly Grill, a farm to table restaurant, hidden gems like the TREC Trail, and well-loved brands like John Boos & Co., whose outlet showroom houses products featured on the FOOD Network! Enjoy arcade games, entertaining sport simulators and delicious pub food at Gopher’s Grill. Let off some steam at Effingham Axe Throwing or hunt for collector cards at Baseball Card Connection in Downtown Effingham.

Visit Effingham offers an array of complementary services including assistance in site selection, grant opportunities, media assistance and, of course, a plethora of visitor information.
