This destination lends itself to a perfect blend of culture, language, culinary influences and ambiance that can only be found deep in the heart of South Texas. You can count on Laredo’s lodging facilities to make your stay on the South Texas border a home-away-from-home experience. Whether you’re looking for a historic hotel in downtown Laredo or a suite just a few minutes from the airport, Laredo offers a wide variety of accommodations to match your pocketbook and travel needs. Laredo boasts nearly 4,000 hotel rooms, we look forward to extending a warm ‘Bienvenidos a Laredo’ to you and your group. The sales team with the Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau is eager and ready to assist with site-inspection coordination and obtaining room rates and/or room blocks.

One of the advantages to bringing in your team to Laredo is year-round sunny skies. The weather permits year-round tournaments for golf, track and field, baseball, basketball, boxing, volleyball and more. One of the facilities you’ll find in Laredo is Uni-Trade Baseball Stadium, which has a stadium capacity of 6,000 for baseball. Stadium amenities include a press box, concession stands, state of the art LED video board, three private picnic areas and three private party areas. Currently, Uni-Trade Baseball Stadium is the home to Los Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos, a bi-national baseball team. Uni-Trade also plays home to various collegiate baseball tournaments and most recently hosted the 2017 opening ceremony of the Pony Girls Fast Pitch World Series. Uni-Trade Stadium is centrally located by the Laredo International Airport and has several hotels, restaurants and attractions within the area.

Another facility you’ll find in Laredo is the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course. This 18-hole public course is designed by Robert Trent Jones, II, features a par-72 course with five sets of tees and a longest distance of up to 7,069 yards set along the Rio Grande. Other features include a 132 slope, 74.5 rating, golf pro shop, driving range, one practice putting green, two practice ranges, a restaurant and a conference room that overlooks the Rio Grande. The course continues to be recognized as one of the top public access courses in Texas and has received notable attention nationally.

There’s more to sports when tournament traveling. Let the Laredo CVB select a couple of activities for your families. One of those options is strolling down San Bernardo Avenue, Laredo’s original main street. This shopper’s paradise offers the finest in Mexican imports on the U.S. side of the border. These unique little stores strongly appeal to everyone, from the trailer-hauling customer to the tourist who just wants to pick up that something special that says “Hecho en Mexico.” With their variety of wares and festive atmosphere, these import shops give tourists the feeling of being in Mexico without having to cross the border.

Laredo has the team spirit and know-how to surpass expectations and host a successful team sports event. Laredo is served by Interstate 35, U.S. Highways 59 and 83, and Texas Highway 359. Laredo International Airport is serviced by three airlines: American Airlines, United Airlines and Allegiant.
