While sports is fun and games to some, it's serious business in Winston-Salem.  And our impressive history of dedication to sports is evidence of our passion for sports.  Winston-Salem is synonymous as the perfect host city for amateur sporting events.  And we are the proud home of Wake Forest University as well as Winston-Salem State University -- both boasting an impressive and diverse sports programs, facilities and venues. Winston-Salem has proudly hosted the Powerade State Games of North Carolina, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball Tournament and NCAA Division II and III Indoor Track and Field Championships.  And every August, Winston-Salem enjoys world-wide attention as the host of Winston-Salem Open, the ATP World Tour 250 tennis event, hosting such international tennis stars as John Isner, France's Julien Benneteau and Andy Roddick to name but a few.
