Meeting Professionals International, New Jersey Chapter (MPI-NJ), will bring the purchasing power of over 100 meeting and event industry professionals to its second annual education event. The MEETS Conference in Atlantic City on March 22-24, 2022, is a premier gathering covering the meetings education, events, travel and sales areas of the meetings industry. The conference will also showcase Atlantic City and its opportunities to people responsible for designing business, association and social meetings that get results.

The two-day event at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will feature internationally known event expert Marcy Blum, of Marcy Blum Events, as its keynote speaker. It also includes education sessions on business trends in the meetings and events industries; working more effectively with underserved social markets; building holistic organizations through diversity, equity, and inclusion; building better customer solutions through sales and ‘future-proofing’ contracts against unexpected events.

Part of the conference will include a celebration of MPI-NJ’s 35th Birthday (2021). MPI-NJ president, Corinne Thomas, president of Absolute Events by Corrine Ltd. & Event Makers, noted “Meetings and events are a multi-million dollar economic engine in New Jersey. MPI-NJ is extremely invested in promoting our outstanding resources, like Atlantic City, to bring value to our clients and to the local community. We are very excited to be in Atlantic City and learn more about its possibilities.”

Other MPI chapters and fellow industry associations are in support of MPI New Jersey’s goal of bringing together their peers for this conference. The International Live Events Association-New Jersey Chapter, MPI-Greater New York Chapter, the Professional Convention Management Association-Greater Philadelphia Chapter and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence-Northeast USA have promoted and will participate in MEETS this year.

Positive Community Impact
MPI-NJ and its members at this conference are working with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Xi Tau Zeta Chapter of Atlantic City through its “Warm Their Soles” initiative. MPI-NJ wanted to supply socks to local Atlantic City service organizations during the coldest months of the year. Zeta Phi Beta identified three organizations willing to receive their donations: The Atlantic City Rescue Mission, Covenant House and the Richmond Avenue School. Attending members and anyone who would like to contribute are asked to donate new socks which will be collected at the meeting and presented to the organizations by MPI-NJ and Zeta Phi Beta.

“Meetings are about connecting people to change the world. We change the world by serving its people,” said MPI-NJ Director of Education, Lauren Nance, Chief Consultant of Nance Communications and a Zeta Phi Beta Sorority member. “It was an easy ‘yes’ when MPI-NJ asked the Sorority to connect them with city agencies who needed this kind of help the most. Each of them is on the front lines every day doing the work of service and we are at-the-ready to back them up with the financial and human resources they need. For 102 years Zeta has supported vital service missions and doing this for Atlantic City adjacent to this conference means a lot to both organizations.”

Established in 1986, MPI New Jersey is the largest statewide trade association for the meeting industry and is committed to helping its members advance their careers through superior education, networking and professional development opportunities.
