St. Louis to Host NMRA Tournament 2021

Apr 27, 2021

NMRA St. Louis is May 5 through 8, 2021

The NMRA board and I are VERY excited to hold our Spring singles/doubles/mixed tournament in the warm May weather of St. Louis. Thanks to Dan Whitley and Heather Chavez for making this event happen, after several delays. I have heard from many 40+ players telling me they are eager to get back on the court in such a great city! Ten courts are available to our group and our host hotel is a CASINO! Register today!

Remember that our tourneys celebrate the 40+ players. The all-round-robin format provides for players to NEVER be eliminated. Our divisions are by age, in five-year increments, with matches scheduled back-to-back each day so you can schedule your down time. The Friday night banquet is pretty special too. Give us a try! I’m sure first-timers will have questions, so please call me at my number below.

This will be a great warm-up event for the St. Louis USA Racquetball Festival in June! That will be the combination National Singles, National Doubles and National Junior Championships. You don’t want to miss either tournament.

NMRA St. Louis Hotel Info:

Make your reservations at the River City Hotel and Casino now! If I need to reserve more rooms, I can do that right now, but not closer to the tournament dates. You will want to stay at that hotel, not just for the gambling and restaurants, but also, our Friday night banquet will be held in their ballroom area, AND we are providing a shuttle to the club from that hotel only. Take advantage of that great service. You may avoid renting a car—your choice—and Joe Williams can pick you up at the airport for less than you would spend on a car service. Here is the hotel info, or check out the full tournament information sheet here.

15 Great Things To Do in St. Louis

You probably know about the Arch, the Anheuser-Busch brewery tours and maybe the amazing Catholic Basilica mosaics, but see if you also knew about these other tours and sights to see. We will make sure you have time to enjoy them. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g44881-Activities-Saint_Louis_Missouri.html

Thank you to All Who Renewed USAR Memberships in February

USA Racquetball has had a “rebuilding year”, as they say in pro sports. The 2020 pandemic kept our National Governing Body from putting on events (the US Open!!!) where we all normally renew our USAR memberships.

2020 showed how memberships and renewals are the core of the USAR organization. Several of us on the Membership Committee put together a membership appreciation / renewal giveaway program with over 50 great prizes and it was a big success. Current members got equipment, coaching, vacations and much more. Winner names are on the USARacquetball website.
