Fort Wayne Welcomes the Return of State Wars Roller Hockey

The State Wars United States Roller Hockey Championship has returned to Fort Wayne for their 22nd Anniversary from July 21 - August 3.

The 14-day international event expects to bring in more than 10,000 players, parents, and tournament officials across 363 teams from all over the country as well as 3 provinces and 7 additional countries including Canada, Columbia, Sweden, Mexico, Great Britain, and New Zealand. This is the largest inline skating event in North America and will generate more than $3.7 million dollars in direct economic impact.

In the tournament's 6th time to Fort Wayne, returning on a 3-year cycle, this year's event is bigger than Fort Wayne has ever seen from this group.

Because of the growth of participation in the Great Lakes Region, the group will be utilizing all three rinks at PSM Icehouse as well as an additional rink at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

"We are thrilled to welcome State Wars back for the 6th time to Fort Wayne," says Visit Fort Wayne Senior Sports Development Manager, Jazmín Zavala. "It is an incredible sporting event for our community bringing players and families not only to compete but also to explore our city. Expect to see hockey jerseys at our attractions, restaurants, and retail stores over the next two weeks."

Thanks to collaborative efforts by the PSM Icehouse and Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, as well as partnerships with Indiana Sports Corp and Visit Indiana for helping to make this opportunity possible. 

Tournament action starts today, Tuesday, July 21. Admission is free to the public.
