Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG), is honored to have such great athletes participate in the event. From its inaugural year in 2002 to today, nearly 165,000 have participated in the State Games. We wanted to take a moment to honor and award the Rocky Mountain State Games - Athlete of the Year Award because the State Games would not be what it is today without the support of its great athletes.

We are proud to announce that the winner of this year’s Rocky Mountain State Games - Athlete of the Year Award, Mayleen Burk (Judo)! Burk is just 12 years old and has been participating in judo for over eight years. Her entire family participates in judo and her parents are instructors. In this year's RMSG, Burk won gold in her weight division, silver in the weight division above her, and was able to compete alongside her sisters, Jasmine and Lily. In Burk's words, “she's been doing judo for so long that it's all she knows" and loves the community aspect of judo. Because of her outstanding achievements and determined spirit that embodies what RMSG is all about, there is no better fit for this year’s Athlete of the Year to be Mayleen Burk! Congrats Mayleen!

Save the date for the 2023 Rocky Mountain State Games (RMSG), Colorado's largest multi-sport festival for athletes of all ages and athletic abilities, including those with physical disabilities, visual impairments, and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD)!
