Colorado Springs Announces Groundbreaking for New Soccer Facility

The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC is pleased to announce the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the renovation of Sand Creek Stadium at Coleman Park commencing Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at 5:00pm.

The purpose of this Groundbreaking Ceremony is to commemorate the completion of the Sand Creek Soccer Stadium project that began in the mid 1980s in cooperation with the USOC, USSF, and the City of Colorado Springs

Mayor Bach will be in attendance along with attending City Council members. We will be hearing comments from the Mayor, City Officials, Switchbacks FC, and the Design Team.

The ceremony will be held at midfield near the West bleachers. Parking in the dirt lot West of the Stadium and enter through the Southwest gate. 4385 Tutt Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922.

Renovations include seating for 3,500 spectators, expanded burms, larger paved concourses, permanent press box, suite level seating, improved field lighting, wifi, locker room & administrative facilities.

The Switchbacks Football Club is a USL Pro soccer team based in Colorado Springs, Colorado beginning official play in March 2015.
