Without a doubt, Foley is a city getting better with time. Each year Foley adds more dining options, attractions, events and things to do. Meanwhile, our Foley Sports Tourism (FST) team continues to provide athletes, families and teams an exceptional experience while in Foley. Here are just some of the things we are looking forward to in 2022.

1. Winter is better in Foley

With an average winter high temperature of 64?, why would you stay indoors? The FST Fields feature 15 sports challenge fields and one breathtaking championship stadium ready for outdoor action. The city is also home to a world-class golf course and nearly 500 acres of natural habitat at Graham Creek Nature Preserve. Foley offers the perfect setting for disc golf, archery, trail running and more.

Inside, the fun continues at the Foley Event Center, a 90,000-square-foot event center ready to host volleyball, basketball, pickleball, cheer, gymnastics and more. When you’re looking for fun between the games, you can check out our local attractions with live musical performances, indoor gaming, family-style dinners, boutique shopping and more.

2. Sports are back. Well, did they ever really leave?

We’ve put in the work to add new sanitizing methods, amped up our game day protocols and continue to encourage practicing healthy habits.  Our venues provide clean event spaces with one-of-a-kind experiences. 3. Foley now has more than 115 dining options

New restaurants are popping up everywhere. Local favorites in combination with the up-and-coming hot spots make Foley the place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try some Southern favorites, including the made-from-scratch seafood gumbo or a fresh acai bowl at one of the nutrition bars. Want something fun? Get creative by designing your own tableside nachos. 4. More attractions are on the way

Near the Foley Sports Tourism Complex, you will find OWA Parks and Resorts, an entertainment destination with shows, shopping, plus a 23-ride amusement park. Want more? Set to open in 2022 is an indoor waterpark with even more options for fun!

Discover 100 plus name-brand finds at fabulous prices by shopping the premier Tanger Outlets. Stroll through the historic charm of downtown Foley and satisfy your sweet tooth at the antique soda fountain or mammoth candy shop, or discover trendy and modern boutiques.

5. Events and partnerships continue to grow

While Foley hosts a number of competitions throughout the year, it has become the city where champions are crowned. Starting this year, Foley Sports Tourism will host three of the four fall Sun Belt Conference Championships, including women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and cross country. In addition, the facility has a long-term contract to host the Alabama Soccer Association’s State Cup, crowning the best youth club soccer teams in the state. Foley has also been the home of the NJCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship, the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship and the NIRSA National Soccer Championships.
