Organizers of the Port City Classic, powered by the Mobile Sports Authority, are excited to announce its return to the city of Mobile for a third year. After a successful two years, this two day, HBCU-centered event is back featuring a powerful SWAC matchup between Alabama State University and Mississippi Valley State University.

Set for Saturday, November 15, 2025, the game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. at the iconic Ladd-Peebles Stadium located at 1621 Virginia Street, Mobile, AL 36604.

“The MSA is proud to support the 3rd annual Port City Classic as it continues to grow into one of Mobile’s premier sports events,” said Danny Corte, Executive Director of the Mobile Sports Authority (MSA). “This game not only brings great football to our area, but also strengthens our community through culture, connection, and celebration. We encourage the alumni and fans of these two prestigious universities to come on down to Mobile to partake in the fun!”

This year’s Port City Classic goes beyond the gridiron, offering several opportunities game supporters can get involved including: a spirited cheerleading clinic featuring both ASU and MVSU cheerleaders, a dynamic HBCU Summit, the second annual HBCU Golf Tournament and a signature entertainment night featuring nationally acclaimed performers.

“Through the Port City Classic, we are cultivating the culture!” said LaSheryl Dotch, CEO of the Port City Classic. “This isn’t just a football game, it’s the recognition and celebration of HBCU legacy, community empowerment, and culture. We’re building on last year’s event success to create an even more memorable experience that unites alumni, students, families, and fans from across the country.”
