Want to get your BID on? Here’s one for hosting communities with a softball complex. International Slow Pitch Softball (ISPS) is seeking sites for its state, national and world championships from 2022-2024.

The rewards are great: more than $2 million economic impact for a three-day tournament, with teams bringing in not just athletes but staff, officials, family members, friends and others, all of whom make a lasting impression on host cities.

RFPs are available as follows:

Deadlines for bids are in December; however, potential hosts are urged to examine the proposals and, if there are any questions, to contact Manuel T. Ferrero III, ISPS Commissioner, 855-576-8522 or info@ispssoftball.com

About ISPS and Its Events: ISPS States and Nations offer a wide range of age divisions and skill level divisions for the sport of slow pitch softball including, but not limited to Bronze, Silver, Gold, Co-Ed, Women’s, 40+, 50+ divisions. ISPS exists to strengthen and promote the sport of slow pitch softball on a global level and assist in developing ISPS events, leagues, tournaments, and clinics around the world.

Venues: ISPS has noted that it will consider Major League, Minor League, College, High School, recreation or softball complex facilities. First preference is for all fields to be the same location; however, if all fields are located on multiple complexes, this is acceptable as long as all complexes are within close proximity. Seating available at each field is a must. Field should be lighted and outfield fences should be set back at least 300 feet. There should be a public address system on one field for championship play.

ISPS would like to know specific information about potential host venues, including the following:

  • Availability of parking (and number of spaces)
  • Phone & Wi-Fi/Internet Access
  • Handicap Accessibility
  • Concessions
  • Air Conditioning (Indoors)
  • Available Storage
  • Press Area
  • Rest Rooms
  • Seating Capacity

Lodging Requirements: ISPS has noted that at least three tiers of accommodations should be available (good, better, best) with the following criteria:

  • Room Rates between $89 - $159
  • Group Rate Discount Code with Link/Landing Page for Players/Teams/Fans
  • 20+ Room Blocks per Property to Start
  • Complimentary Suites and Rooms for ISPS VIPs and Staff

Attractions and Tourism: Additionally, potential host communities should be able to discuss attractions for athletes and their families to visit off the field.
