Montgomery County, PA remains a premier destination to host sports tournaments and the Valley Forge Sports team is thrilled to welcome more than 10 national events, including the largest to ever come to the county with record-breaking attendance, this year.

 

USA Events choosing to #MakeItMontco this summer:

 

USA Taekwondo: 2023 U.S. Grand Prix Regional East

2023 is the third year of the USATKD Regional Grand Prix Taekwondo Championships. Between 1,000 – 1,500 athletes and coaches, plus an additional 2,000 officials, staff, and family members attended this martial arts competition at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks between May 12th - May 14th.

 

USA Water Polo:

The first USA Water Polo Pennsylvania Club State Championship wrapped early this month at Wissahickon High School with champions crowned in three divisions. Congratulations to Norco Water Polo on winning the 18U Girls title, Maverick Water Polo Gold on claiming the 18U Boys title, and Maverick Water Polo on earning the 14U Mixed title. This new event was open to all USAWP teams throughout the state of Pennsylvania and provided a high-level championship for those dedicated club athletes.

 

USA Wrestling: 14U National Duals
The 14U National Dual Meet Championships is one of USA Wrestling’s most exciting age group competitions and was instituted as an opportunity for athletes to compete on a state team to determine bragging rights for the top freestyle and Greco-Roman 14U teams in the United States. More than 1,300 athletes from 26 different states attended this event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center between June 7th - 11th. The Valley Forge Sports team is looking forward to welcoming them back in 2024!

 

Valley Forge Summer SportsUS Youth Soccer: Eastern Presidents Cup

A youth soccer tournament featuring 120 teams from the Northeast region coming to Valley Forge is kicking off at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting. Approximately 120 teams with more than 2,500 players and 60 referees will participate from 15 U.S states. This is the single largest sporting event to ever come to Montgomery County, PA.

 

Games will kick off on June 16th at The Proving Grounds and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, with the semifinals and finals at The Proving Grounds on June 19th – 20th. Each team will compete in group play for the first three days with one game per day across 16 fields. Group stage winners will advance to the semifinals. Admission is free and spectators are welcome. 

 

USA Dodgeball: USA Premier Tour

A two-day tournament taking place on August 5th -6th in King of Prussia, PA at Competitive Edge Sports featuring Open No Sting, Women's No Sting, Open Foam, Women's Foam, and Mixed Foam divisions. This is open to anyone and any team from any region

 

Earlier in 2023, Valley Forge welcomed USA Masters Weightlifting and US Quadball Cup, both of which exceeded their attendance estimates. Overall, the USA tournaments held in 2023 will generate a combined total of 13,500 room nights and more than $11 million in economic impact for Montgomery County.
