USA Water Ski is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Club Growth Challenge Initiatives Contests. The contests encouraged the USA Water membership and sport discipline organizations to get more people on the water and affiliate with USA Water Ski.

The respective challenges and winners from 2017 were as follows:

1. Club Membership Growth Challenge: USA Water Ski challenged all of its 600 USA Water Ski clubs to see which club could enroll the most new USA Water Ski members in 2017. Members had to be registered in the Active (Full Active, Family Active or Under 25) or Grassroots categories. The Nipmuc Water Ski Club (Webster, Mass.) brought in 46 new members and will receive a free club membership for 2018 and a $100 donation to be used as the club determines.

2. Collegiate Challenge: USA Water Ski challenged its collegiate clubs - this included clubs with the National Collegiate Water Ski Association and the registered collegiate clubs through USA Wakeboard - to promote membership. The Purdue University Water Ski Club (West Lafayette, Ind.) brought in 43 new members and will receive a complimentary USA Water Ski membership for 2018 and a $100 donation to be used as the team determines.

3. Club Event Challenge: USA Water Ski challenged its clubs to see which club could host the most sanctioned events in these two separate categories during 2017: 1.) Basic Skills clinics; and 2.) Grassroots tournaments. Virginia Beach Adaptive Watersports (Virginia Beach, Va.) hosted 12 Basic Skills Clinics; the San Diego Water Ski Team (San Diego, Calif.) hosted seven stand-alone Grassroots events. Each club will receive $100.
