Premier Rugby Sevens (PR7s), the first league founded on gender equality, announced SAMURAI will continue to be its official apparel provider for the 2024 season. SAMURAI has partnered with PR7s since the league was founded in 2021. The deal includes all kit design and production for eight franchises and 16 teams, plus fan apparel and merchandise. “As we expanded our league, regionalized our franchises, and welcomed new fans to our sport, SAMURAI has been with us every step of the way,” said Owen Scannell, CEO of Premier Rugby Sevens. “We plan to build on the momentum of the last three years as SAMURAI has increased its partnership level for 2024.”

PR7s saw significant commercial and audience growth during its 2023 season, setting new benchmarks for the fastest-growing professional rugby organization in the world. The 2023 PR7s season consisted of 40 internationally broadcasted matches in five major U.S. markets with over 200 men’s and women’s athletes. The season culminated in August with the 2023 PR7s Championship in Washington, D.C., airing live on FS1.

"We've always believed in PR7s' vision, and we're excited to renew our partnership as we further raise awareness of the sport in the United States,” said Jack Dyson, Chief Marketing Officer at SAMURAI. “Together, we aim to elevate rugby, creating a significant impact on both men's and women's competitions and engaging with a dedicated global fan base.”

SAMURAI has been a premium supplier for over 27 years to high-profile teams across numerous sports globally, offering a bespoke product offering to all their partners. The company has a long-standing affiliation and expertise with the rugby sevens format.

PR7s is breaking down gender barriers for sports in the U.S. and has achieved several firsts since launching in 2021, including the first professional sports league to launch with equal pay for men and women athletes. It is also the first platform for women to play professional rugby in North America and the first league to create a United Championship where men’s and women’s results combine into one overall ranking.

SAMURAI will continue to outfit over 200 players who compete in major venues across the country en route to the PR7s Championship. In 2023, 28 Olympians participated in PR7s, including four gold medalists. The following is the PR7s conference breakdown:
