Up for Bid: Two USA Gymnastics Events

Gymnastics, one of the most-watched sports, is seeking a solid landing spot for two of its events. The 2022 Rhythmic Challenge & Invitational, 2022 Rhythmic Development Championships and 2022 USA Gymnastics Elite Qualifier are both up for bid.

Want to host the events that are sure to garner spectators, media coverage and eyeballs for your destination? Information is presented below. The bid information (found on the links for each event) provides details on the timing of each event, including desired month, load in-load out and more.

Deadline for both events is Friday, December 31.

2022 Rhythmic Development Championships: The Rhythmic Developmental Championships includes the top level 6 through 8 athletes in the country by qualification. A host city can anticipate a delegation size of approximately 525 people, which includes athletes, coaches, judges, and staff. The competition format includes five days of competition.

Hotel/Travel Information:

  • Peak Nights: 120
  • Total Room Nights: 645

The facility should be a modern, clean and accessible arena meeting the following minimum standards:

  • Competition Floor Area: At least 30,000 square feet for warm-up and competition space
  • 30’ unobstructed ceiling height
  • Seating for at least 200 in stadium-type seating
  • Conditions and Availability: The venue must provide the use of the arena/hall cleaned, lighted, and heated or air-conditioned in a manner acceptable to USA Gymnastics.
  • All fans must have the ability to be turned off during competition sessions when the gymnasts are using ribbons.
  • Auxiliary Rooms: Adequate space for hospitality areas, locker rooms, judges’ meetings, production office, and catering.

Please specify if the event space has built in speakers/audio system that can be utilized and whether that is any additional charge.

2022 USA Gymnastics Elite Qualifier:  The Rhythmic Elite Qualifier is the final step of qualification to the USA Gymnastics Championships. The competition format will be two days of competition. A host city can anticipate a delegation, which includes athletes, coaches, judges, and staff. The competition format includes two days of competition.
