Get Your BID On: NCAA College Basketball Academy for Girls

The NCAA invites interested cities to submit a bid proposal to host the first College Basketball Academy for Girls. This event creates an educational and basketball experience for girls who are basketball prospective student athletes from across the country.

 

The NCAA will award one site. The Academy site will host one session over a four-day period. Participants will consist of high school seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshman.

 

The date of the event is July 25-30, 2023.

 

Approximately 500 girls plus their chaperone will participate in this NCAA supported event. Educational sessions include, recruiting process, transition to college, NIL and other life skills. The basketball component consists of skill instruction and team competitions. This is a permissible evaluation event for NCAA Women’s Basketball coaches to attend.

Host Interest Form: This is due no later than Monday, November 7.

 

Bid Specifications Manual: This document contains all relevant information on the event and on what is needed in order to respond to the RFP.

Attendees Include (approximately):

  • 500 Academy prospective student-athletes (“Participants”).
  • 500 chaperones, one per Participant.
  • 100 Academy coaches (“Academy Coaches”).
  • 200 Academy officials.
  • 200 Academy volunteers.
  • Numerous Division I, II & III Women’s Basketball coaches are expected to attend

 

Participants will benefit from:

  • Athletic assessment
  • Skill development.
  • 3v3 and 5v5 competitions.
  • Life skills sessions.

November 28-December 16, 2022

Engagement with prospective hosts, required bid documents available and bid portal opens
