The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) has appointed Steve Lyons as Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth. In this role, Lyons will lead enterprise-wide growth initiatives across the SF Network to scale SFC’s industry leading shared services, revenue programs, and expand the nation’s highest performing platform across more than 100 managed venues.
As Senior Vice President of Strategic Growth, Lyons will focus on designing, piloting, and scaling revenue programs that are disciplined and repeatable as supported by clear KPIs, dashboards, and performance systems that improve visibility and accountability for SFC clients and communities.
“Joining SFC at this moment of growth is an incredible opportunity to help scale a platform that is already changing communities through sport,” said Lyons. “Our focus will be building a disciplined, data-driven growth engine that strengthens every venue in the SF Network—creating new revenue streams, expanding access to play, and delivering measurable value for the owners and communities who have trusted SFC with their vision.”
Within the sports industry, Lyons is recognized for his leadership with Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer before becoming a Senior Advisor to Haslam Sports Group. During his tenure, he led a comprehensive transformation of the club’s business operations, delivering sustained double-digit growth and securing more than $200 million in long-term contracted revenue, including naming rights and marquee partnerships tied to two new state-of-the-art facilities.
Lyons also brings significant experience in the youth and amateur sports sector. Prior to SFC, Steve led facilities and real estate strategy across a national portfolio for 3Step Sports, driving operational discipline, renegotiating key leases, and implementing utilization strategies that improved financial performance and reduced portfolio risk. In addition, Lyons has helped structure more than $1 billion in public-private investment supporting community and economic development initiatives. His experience across professional sports, youth athletics, real estate, and civic partnerships positions him to help scale the SF Network with financial rigor and long-term strategic alignment.
“Steve brings a rare combination of platform leadership, operational rigor, and revenue strategy,” said Jason Clement, Founder and CEO of SFC. “As we continue to scale the SF Network nationally, his ability to align capital, real estate, and performance systems across a multi-asset portfolio will strengthen the value we deliver to owners and communities.”
Lyons holds a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Elon University.
