High Profile, Multi-Year Events to Impact Tuscaloosa

The Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports Commission has announced several high-profile events making their way to Tuscaloosa.

ASA Archery will be held March 2014-2016. During this event, shooters will compete to accurately hit targets in the wooden terrain of Sokol Park. This tournament will take place over a 2-day period. Competitors will be divided into a senior and junior group, with juniors being under 18 years of age. The event is expected to draw over 1,400 competitors, spectators, staff and sponsors. Warrior Dash known as the "World's Largest Obstacle Race Series" will be held November 2013-2014. It's a 5K through rough terrain with multiple obstacles including the muddy mayhem, giant cliffhanger, and the great warrior wall. Benefits go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. The event is expecting between 5,000-7,000 participants. As of today, over 2,000 individuals have registered! Click here to view the experience. The Glow Run is a 3.1 mile nighttime run and/or run featuring black light zones and a glowing finish line. This event will take place in February. The Glow Run includes music at multiple spots along the course as well as a DJ to keep you motivated. Runners can register as teams or individuals for this experience. AHSAA Regional Softball Championships will be held May 2013-2015. This is a 2-day tournament that brings together high school softball teams from all over the state to compete for the title. USA Water Skiing Regionals will bring over 600 participants from the entire south region to compete in multiple events during a 5-day water skiing tournament. The tournament includes women, men and juniors competing in slalom skiing and jumps. The event will be held at Lymanland in Duncanville, Alabama, July 23-28, 2013.
