Milwaukee is proud to welcome thousands of youth volleyball players to downtown Milwaukee for the 2023 Badger Region Championships, which will be held over three weekends in March at the Wisconsin Center.

Hosted by the Badger Region, which functions as the Wisconsin chapter of USA Volleyball, the event features nearly 800 teams playing across the three weekends: March 11-12, March 18-19, and March 25-26. This event also will include fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, events to promote sportsmanship and a semi-professional men’s volleyball match featuring the Volleyball League of America’s Milwaukee Dive and Chicago Icemen.

Fundraising activities for the American Cancer Society (ACS) were created to support Madison Elite Volleyball coach and former Middleton High School boys coach Ben White, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2019. This fundraiser originally was scheduled for 2020, when coach White was receiving treatment, but had to be rescheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Off-the-court activities include:

  • Fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used volleyballs, gear, or jerseys at check-in on the Friday of each tournament weekend. These items will be sold at a rummage sale on the Saturday and Sunday of each tournament weekend, with proceeds going to ACS. Additionally, participating teams that raise the most money for ACS will receive a free photo shoot.
  • Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to any Saturday of Badger Region Championships for a food drive to benefit Kinship Community Food Center. Anyone who donates will receive a raffle ticket for Badger Region gear and volleyballs.
  • On Saturday, March 11, the Badger Region Championships will host a sportsmanship summit on the second floor of the convention center. One session will be held at noon and another at 1:30 p.m., providing multiple opportunities for parents, coaches and athletes to attend a presentation from the Badger Region Championships’ partners at Won80.
  • On Friday, March 24, Badger Region will host a semi-professional men’s volleyball match at 6:15 p.m. The event is free to attend and will feature the Milwaukee Dive taking on the Chicago Icemen, both of which are members of the Volleyball League of America.

Tickets for the Badger Region Championships will go on sale the Monday before each weekend’s festivities and can be purchased at badgervolleyball.org. All ticketing and concessions for this event will be cashless.
