Wenatchee Valley Ready to Host 25th Winter Games

Wenatchee Valley Sports in Washington will host the 25th Special Olympics Washington Winter Games, beginning the last weekend of February. It's the area’s biggest sports event of the year in terms of athletes and sports tourism.

The 25th Annual Special Olympics Washington Winter Games will be Feb. 27 (Opening Ceremonies), Feb. 28 and March 1. Over 1600 athletes are expected in the Wenatchee Valley to compete in basketball, Nordic & Alpine skiing, snowboarding, speed skating & figure skating. When the event schedules are released, they will be posted on the website.

Prior to the Games, one of the major fundraising efforts is the Polar Plunge. The Wenatchee Plunge once again will be at Walla Walla Point Park on February 21. Activities begin at 10:00am with the Plunge at noon. For more information click here.
