Snohomish to Host ‘Midsummer Madness ’ Athletes

More than 110 basketball teams will converge in Snohomish County on July 10-13 for the Midsummer Night's Madness National Championships.

The 17111 annual event will move north from the Kirkland area. Tournament headquarters are at Everett High School, with more games at Kamiak and Mariner High Schools in addition to Everett Community College. More than 300 games will be played in four days.

The Certified NCAA Viewing Period tournament showcases high school age girls who will be recruited by more than 150 college coaches. The players hail from teams in 10 different western states including Hawaii, with seven teams from Canada also competing.

"We look forward to welcoming the basketball teams and college coaches to Snohomish County. The Midsummer Night's  Madness National Championships has been annual event for sixteen years and we are excited Snohomish County is hosting this event," states Tammy Dunn, Sports Development Manager of the Snohomish County Sports Commission.

The MSNM National Championships are run by Triple Crown Sports, a national sports event company based in Colorado.

"We are very excited to play our National Championships in the Everett area," said Sam Lee, Tournament Director. "Everyone  has been great to work with, and the teams will really appreciate what Snohomish County has to offer."
