24 May, 2018
The longest annual event in Mill Creek, 31st Annual Run of the Mill 5K, is set for Saturday, June 30, 2018. Race starts at 9:00 am at the Columbia Funding Mortgage in the Mill Creek Town Center, 15418 Main Street. Register now!
The 5K run has grown to over 1,000 participants and the event is a fundraising event with proceeds to local charities with an emphasis on non-cut and underfunded local high school athletic programs (Track, Cross-Country and Swimming). In addition, the race supports the Linda Baltzell Cancer Patients Assistance Fund at Providence Everett Hospital.
“Columbia Funding Mortgage team and I organize the Run of the Mill event as our way of giving back to the local community who have supported our businesses for the past 13 years”, states Steve Knox, Columbia Funding Mortgage branch manager and race director, “To date we have raised over $400,000.”
Additionally, the Run of the Mill 5K hosts the East/West High School Allstar Cross Country Race. The high school runners lead the pack of runners by starting first and running down Main Street. The race has the Washington State Record for a road course 5K – 14:11 for 3.1 miles on a challenging course.
