Feb 10, 2023

With play set to begin today from the 2023 ITA Division I Women’s National Team Indoor Championship, the draws are now set for the opening round of play at the Nordstrom Tennis Center and Seattle Tennis Club.

Featuring 16 of the top teams from across the NCAA Division I level, the ITA Division I Women’s Indoor Championship has been one of the most prestigious national collegiate tournaments for the past 35 years.

Hosted by the University of Washington, this year’s field will include 14 of the Top 15 teams in the Feb. 1 ITA Collegiate Tennis Team Rankings for what is sure to be another year of must-watch action no matter when you tune in.

The 2022 NCAA Champions, Texas, will be the top seed at the 2023 ITA DI Women’s Indoor Championship. Bringing an undefeated record to the tournament, the Longhorns are breaking in an almost completely new lineup this season and will be put to the test early and often in Seattle.

Just behind Texas will be the 2022 ITA National Team Indoor ChampionsNorth Carolina, who look to make it four straight years in which they have won the event. The Tar Heels enter 12-0 on the year and already have several Top 25 wins on their resume.

Two teams will make their ITA National Team Indoor Championship debut in 2023, as both Iowa State and San Diego pulled off upset victories during ITA Kickoff Weekend play to earn their spot into the Championship.

Across all of the teams, the SEC leads all conferences with four teams represented in the Indoor Championships, just finishing one above the ACC which has three teams represented this year.

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the Championship Match being played on Monday, February 13, at 12 p.m. (PT). However, all teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.

A PlaySight and TrackTennis live stream, as well as Tennis-Ticker live scoring, will be available for every match at the 2023 Division I Women’s Indoor Championship. We’re also proud to partner once again with Cracked Racquets to provide on-site commentary during the tournament. You can find the broadcast on the Cracked Racquets YouTube channel.
