Corpus Christi Will Host its First-Ever Girls’ Junior Volleyball Power League Tournament

The Lone Star Championship Series Corpus Christi Stop will be hosted by the Corpus Christi Force Volleyball Club.  The tournament will take place at the American Bank Center Exhibit Hall, on Saturday, January 31, starting at 8:00 am and on Sunday, February 1, beginning at 8:00 am.  The tournament includes two divisions, combining for 72 teams from the Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston areas.  It is expected that approximately 2,500 people will participate.

This tournament is an integral component of the nationally recognized Tour of Texas Power League , which serves as the premier Texas pathway to the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championship (Junior Olympics) and AAU Girls’ Junior National Championship.  As one of the strongest volleyball leagues in the country, the Tour of Texas attracts college recruiters from all over the nation to witness the competition and to seek out the future stars of college volleyball.  This will still be an extremely competitive level of play.

The Corpus Christi Force Volleyball Club (former Corpus Christi Crossfire Volleyball Club) strives to provide quality volleyball training and competition to female athletes from 9-18 years of age through clinics, camps, and highly competitive tournament play.  The Club’s mission revolves around offering junior girls of the Corpus Christi, Texas area the extremely unique opportunity to participate on a National Junior Girls Volleyball team.

In 2014, the Club’s 14 team became the first local volleyball team to earn the title of “National Champions” when they won the AAU Girls’ Junior National Championship in Orlando, Florida.  In 2013, the Club’s 15 team succeeded in becoming one of 24 Teams in the United States to Qualify for USA Division of USAV Girls Junior National Championship Tournament, finishing 19th .
