Everyone has heard the expression and those who work in sports understand it completely.
 

For Frisco, Texas, the creation of the Sports City, USA brand was the ultimate expression of game recognizing game. 
 

Learning about how Sports City USA came to be is a long story – and it is one best told by those who built the brand – and as they are more than willing to admit, when they first started out, there wasn’t much there:

“One flashing red light.”
 

“And a whole lot of cows.”
 

But thanks to the vision of a man named George Purefoy, the first City Manager of Frisco, the germ of an idea took hold and started to grow. Sports seemed like a good idea – and there was room to build sports facilities.
 

That led to a toll road, more growth – and a new identity.
