2013 Tennessee Adult State Tennis Championships to be Played at Five Sites

The United States Tennis Association has selected Knoxville for the first time to host the 2013 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Tennessee Adult State Tennis Championships. The 2013 State Championships will be played over three days over two weekends, June 7-9, 2013 and June 21-23, 2013.

Championship teams from nine (9) cities/regions across Tennessee are invited to participate in the event. Matches will take place at five (5) tennis sites throughout the city including the Knoxville Racquet Club, Cedar Bluff Racquet Club, Smoky Mountain Tennis Academy, Tyson Tennis Center and West Hills Park.

Approximately 1,100 adult tennis players 18+ and 40+ will take part.

Tournament matches will be played at West Hills Tennis Center, Tyson Park, Smoky Mountain Tennis Academy, and Cedar Bluff Racquet Club on June 7-9, 2013, and at the Knoxville Racquet Club on June 21-23, 2013. Tournament headquarters will be located at Knoxville Racquet Club.

A major factor of Greater Knoxville Tennis Association (GKTA) securing Knoxville as the site of the 2013 Tennessee Adult State Tennis Championships was the major renovation of the West Hills Tennis Center, one of the city’s newly renovated public tennis courts. Video shots could include the newly surfaced and expanded courts, the new clubhouse building, and the engraved brick pavers by the clubhouse entrance which shows the community's support for the project. Admission is free and open to the public for all matches and sites. For additional information and a full schedule of match times, visit http://tnadultleaguechamps.com.
