Watertown, South Dakota stands tall next to any small or medium sports destination. Why? Watertown has more multi-purpose space, ball fields and holes of golf than almost any market our size. However, our biggest asset is our people offering “top shelf” hospitality. Rolling out the red carpet is our specialty. When you bring your tournament or event to Watertown, our community and immaculate venues will make you feel welcome.
One of our newest and most flexible venues is the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center. With 23,200 square feet of multi-purpose space, it’s great for cheer, dance, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and more. It can even be converted from one large competitive gym with seating for 2,200 to four smaller multi-play courts for bigger tournaments. New in 2017, the facility includes six pickleball courts and an eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool with 300-plus spectator seats. The expert staff can help accommodate events as diverse as multi-sport competitions.
Watertown has plenty of other assets including 12 softball fields, two pristine golf courses (one with 27 holes), 30 youth soccer fields, a four-diamond baseball complex, and a nostalgic Minor League baseball stadium, all with modern facilities.
Located between Lakes Kampeska and Pelican; Watertown offers swimming, fishing, sand volleyball, biking and walking trails. We offer 650 clean and updated hotel rooms, all moderately priced. Watertown is located at the crossroads of I-29 and US Highway 81, The Majestic Terry Redlin Art Center welcomes visitors at our gateway and we have a diverse culinary scene, as well as the recognizable eateries, along with local wines and two breweries.
After-game diversions include the Bramble Park Zoo, the Aquatic Center, mini-golf and go-cart racing. Historical homes and landmarks, museums, art galleries, and a vibrant downtown. For personalized assistance, visit visitwatertownsd.com/contact/ or call 1-800-658-4505.
