The Erie Sports Commission will host its next Go Play Days event at DICK’S Sporting Goods on Sunday, October 19. This event will feature a free learn-to-play football clinic for registered participants.

Participants can select from two sessions based on age: the first at 10 a.m. for ages five through seven and the second at 11:30 a.m. for ages eight through 10. Each session will last an hour and is limited to 30 participants. Registration is required for this free event and can be completed here, starting today. Spots will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

The football clinic will feature drills and games designed to build teamwork and confidence while teaching the fundamentals of the sport, including rules, catching and passing. Participants should bring athletic clothes, sneakers or cleats and a water bottle.

“We are extremely excited to host another Go Play Days event,” said Danielle Steffan, local marketing specialist at DICK’S. “Go Play Days inspires kids to stay active, and this interactive football clinic gives youth in the Erie community a fun opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game, build teamwork and confidence and enjoy the football season.”

The Erie Sports Commission’s Go Play Days program is supported in part by Lamar Advertising and Erie News Now.

Previous Go Play Day events have been hosted by the Erie Youth Hockey Association, Erie Pickleball Association, ASCEND Climbing and Lakeshore BMX.
