All-Female Flag Football Tournament Arrives in Conshohocken

The Flag Football Life We Run the World Flag Football Tournament is coming to the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken Aug. 11-13. The event will feature a record-breaking 154 female youth teams with players representing 18 different states and 3 countries. Other highlights: 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u to 17u girls, 10-plus a Showcase on Friday night, three-pool play on Saturday, and single-elimination bracket on Sunday.

 

On Friday evening, RCX and the Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting over 100 female highschool athletes for a college showcase with collegiate coaches in attendance. Additionally, World Games gold medalist Diana Flores will be onsite signing autographs and taking photos.

 

Open to the public with an anticipated 2,000 athletes and spectators, the event will take place on 6 full-size turf soccer fields, which equates to eight five vs. five flag football fields, and include awards: finalist medals, championship rings, Most Valued Player,and Coach accolades.

 

“The Valley Forge Sports Commission and the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) are so excited to welcome such a great opportunity to Montgomery County, PA,” said Jon Scheuren, Director of Sports for the VFTCB. “This is a huge win for women in sports. And with outdoor fields and competition-level synthetic turf, The Proving Grounds is the premier Mid-Atlantic multi-sport tournament complex.”

 

The event expected positive economic impact from the event is more than $800,000.

 

Flag Football Life is a sports lifestyle brand that hosts leagues and tournaments throughout the east coast with a goal of putting on high-level events for athletes, according to Mike Reimel, Owner of Flag Football Life.

 

“We wanted to highlight women with their own event,” said Reimel. “The sport is continuously growing – now a collegiate sport for females at NAIA colleges, and a female-sanctioned high school sport in multiple sports – so we’re happy to be a part of it.”
