Oregon to See Marathon, Soccer Friendly Between First Responder Groups

Two events are coming up in Oregona and both are welcoming interest.

Lane United FC is hosting a friendly First Responders Match at Civic Park on May 3 at 6 pm. The match will be between the Eugene Springfield Fire Department and the Eugene Police Department.

The first responders to the 2015 Civic Stadium fire will play a commemorative match to celebrate the completion of the stadium on the original Civic Stadium site.

This match is included in all Lane United FC season ticket packages or tickets are available just for this match.

The Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission is a proud sponsor of the Eugene Marathon which takes place on Sunday, April 27 and starts and finishes at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

The marathon is certified by USA Track & Field (USATF), and is a qualifying event for both the Boston Marathon and the United States Olympic Trials.

The main Health & Wellness Expo is April 25-26 at the Graduate by Hilton Eugene with additional vendors and activities at 5th Street Market Alley.

Residents are encouraged to get out and cheer for the runners in this legendary annual event that brings visitors from all over the world.
