The Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon will host the Road Runners Club of America Central Region Half Marathon Championship as part of Marathon Weekend scheduled for April 24-26, 2020. All runners participating in the Half Marathon event will be eligible to win overall and age group Regional Championship Awards in addition to the event specific awards.
“We are thrilled to have been selected to host this prestigious event here in Canton,” said Jim Chaney, Executive Race Director. “The events that placed bids to host the event are well known nationally and are formidable. We look forward to showing the Road Runners Club of America what a great event we have here in Canton along with the backdrop of the Pro Football Hall of Fame as our partner.”
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon is entering its seventh year with participation expected to reach 10,000 total runners for the 2020 event. Marathon Weekend begins on Friday, April 24 with the Health & Fitness Expo at the Canton Civic Center. On Saturday, April 25 the Draft Day 5K will take place while the Health & Fitness Expo. The Full Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay events will take place on Sunday, April 26. Additional activities include the Kids Mini Marathon, the award-winning film ‘Like Harvey Like Son’ in conjunction with the Canton Film Festival, and a variety of programming throughout the community to celebrate Marathon Weekend.
