2024 Upcoming Events:

 

Four NCAA Championships and Five ACC Championships

With a storied history of hosting collegiate championship events, Greater Raleigh gears up for another extraordinary lineup of NCAA and ACC championships to be held in the area throughout 2024. All of these are returning events to Raleigh and Cary that provide a massive economic impact boost for the area.

 



 

PPA Tour North Carolina Cup presented by CIBC: April 2-7, Cary Tennis Park

The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA Tour), the elite pro and amateur pickleball circuit, comes to Raleigh for the first time!  USA Baseball National High School Invitational (NHSI): April 10-13, USA Baseball National Training Complex

The USA Baseball NHSI, presented by the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance (GRSA), brings 16 of the top prep teams nationwide to Cary to compete in what has become a leading event on the high school baseball calendar. The NHSI is a single-game elimination championship tournament providing athletes the opportunity to compete in front of collegiate and professional scouts.

 

Esports Travel Summit: May 29-31, Raleigh Convention Center  

The only event of its kind for esports tournament and event organizers will be hosted by Visit Raleigh, GRSA and the Raleigh Convention Center in 2024. The event facilitates partnerships between esports organizations and the travel industry while providing educational programming, a marketplace with one-on-one appointments and multiple business networking opportunities. Raleigh has emerged as a leading global host destination for esports, cementing its reputation as a market that celebrates the competitive video game culture and community. 

 

The Soccer Tournament (TST): June 5-10, WakeMed Soccer Park 

Building off an innovative first-time event in June 2023 that sold out to a crowd of 35,000 fans, TST 2024 is expanding from 32 to 48 men’s teams and will feature the addition of an eight-team women’s tournament, each with their own $1 million winner-take-all prize. With the addition of the women’s tournament, TST will be the highest stakes women’s professional soccer event globally.

 

U.S. Open: June 13-16, Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (Course No. 2)  

The 2024 U.S. Open will be held at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (Course No. 2), one of the most beloved golf courses in the world. With an expectation of approximately 250,000 spectators at the U.S. Open in Pinehurst, Greater Raleigh will serve as a gateway for travelers, offering gracious accommodations, exciting things to do and exquisite dining. U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Training Camp: June 30-July 10, Triangle Aquatic Center 

The U.S. Olympic swimming team has chosen Cary's Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC) as its domestic training site ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. TAC's selection is a testament to its support for USA Swimming and elite athletes. The facility has an impressive track record, sending 14 swimmers to the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials and producing two Olympians. The tentative dates for the domestic training camp at TAC are from June 30-July 10, following the U.S. Olympic Trials, June 15-23. This extended preparation period marks a strategic move to ensure the team's peak performance at the upcoming Olympic Games. 

 

2024 PDGA Tim Selinske U.S. Masters Disc Golf Championships, Sept. 18-22, Multiple Courses in Greater Raleigh

With top-level courses like Diavolo at New Hope Disc GolfCedar Hills Park and Buckhorn, Greater Raleigh has established itself as a premier destination for disc golf enthusiasts. More than 400 players ages 40+ will have the opportunity to compete for a national title and enjoy the area's culture and diversity. This will mark the first time the PDGA Tim Selinske U.S. Masters Disc Golf Championships have been held here.
