Endurance Sports Consultancy has announced its first owned event, the Twin Cities Twilight Relays. To be held in Minneapolis with an evening start time of 18:00 CT on Friday, July 18, the event features teams of four runners.
Each runner in a team completes an identical, approximately 3.3-mile road loop starting and finishing at a festival area at Thomas Beach at Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis.
“As someone who believes that running, at its best, is about community, I’m excited to launch an event that’s as much a celebration of our vibrant and diverse running community as it is a race,” said Relay Director Eli Asch.
“This event concept allows Twin Cities runners of all paces to come together on a beautiful summer night to take part in the relays, and also to cheer each other on in an exchange zone festival featuring team tents, music, food, and a whole lot of support and camaraderie.”
The Twilight Relays has partnered with the Minneapolis Parks Foundation (MPF) as its Official Nonprofit Partner, with the event donating a portion of each team’s entry fee to the non-profit. MPF will also provide volunteers for the Green Team to support the Relays’ sustainability efforts, for which it will receive an additional donation.
Minneapolis Parks Foundation Executive Director Anne Hoyt Taff, said “We are honoured to be the Official Nonprofit Partner of the inaugural Twin Cities Twilight Relays.
“We love to see Minneapolis’ beautiful parks activated and enjoyed by our community, and we’re always looking for new ways to support and champion inclusive opportunities within the parks. By partnering with an event like the Twilight Relays, we’re continuing our mission of transforming lives through parks and public spaces, ensuring these spaces remain welcoming and accessible to everyone.”
Runners will have the opportunity to make a donation directly to the Minneapolis Parks Foundation during registration to further support MPF and the parks that play a role as a playground for the Twin Cities running community.
