Massachusetts Office of Sports Marketing Announces Hockey Events

The Beanpot was just the beginning of the exciting hockey action happening in Massachusetts. From college hockey to minor league, there’s plenty of fire on the ice.

On March 20-21, 2015, the Men’s Hockey East Semifinals and Championship takes place at the TD Garden in Boston, MA. Teams are still to be determined but Boston University and Boston College are neck and neck at the top of the standing with UMass Lowell and Northeastern not far behind. On April 9 and 11, the NCAA Frozen Four tournament is at the TD Garden in Boston. The event will take place, 2015. Teams are still to be determined but the 16 team bracket will be announced Noon ET on Sunday, March 22, 2015, on ESPNU.

With all these college hockey games are happening, don’t forget to keep up with the minor league teams, the Springfield Falcons and the Worcester Sharks. This Sunday, March 8th the Springfield Falcons (32-20-6, 70pts) are playing the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA. At this game there will be opportunity to receive a team poster and attend an autograph session after the game. Their regular season concludes mid-April (www.falconsahl.com). The Worcester Sharks (30-19-4-2, 66pts) have a home game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on March 21st that includes a special guest appearance from 5-7pm by Malcom Butler of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. The Sharks play at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Their regular season also concludes mid-April (www.sharksahl.com)
