With National Team berths on the line, USA Gymnastics’ Winter Cup kicks off the 2026 season February 21-22 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky. As the first domestic premier event of the season, the 2026 Winter Cup will bring exciting changes to a new year of American gymnastics.

Rosters spots on the line
The 2026 Winter Cup is the first national competition of the season for junior and senior men’s and women’s artistic athletes. In the 2026 edition of the event, both the men’s and women’s National Teams will be renamed following competition and the U.S. rosters for this year’s American Cup will be determined. As a highly anticipated preview of the new 2028 Olympic format, American Cup is a mixed-team international with men and women set to compete together March 7 at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nevada.

Rising stars and veterans
This year in Louisville, the competition will be teeming with new and familiar faces including Olympians, World Championship medalists and U.S. champions. 2024 Olympic women’s team gold medalist Hezly Rivera (Oradell, N.J./WOGA Gymnastics) and Olympic men’s team bronze medalist Frederick Richard (Stoughton, Mass./University of Michigan) headline the event, and they will have plenty of company. The weekend will see the return of Olympians Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) and Shane Wiskus (Spring Park, Minn./EVO Gymnastics) in men’s competition, with Moldauer accounting for four Winter Cup all-around and seven total titles since 2017.

2025 Winter Cup champion Riley Loos (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Stanford University) will defend his senior all-around title, while the all-around podiums are up for grabs on the women’s side. After winning all-around bronze in 2025, Simone Rose (Sammamish, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics) is among those looking from the crown, as is 2025 U.S. Classic champion Claire Pease (Sunnyvale, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics). Newly minted senior Caroline Moreau (Keller, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics), who won three Junior World Championships medals last November, looks to make an impact in her first major senior competition.

Among those gunning for the women’s junior all-around are 2025 Junior Pan American Games team champions Kylie Smith (Loveland, Ohio/Cincinnati Gymnastics) and Addalye VanGrinsven (Champlin, Minn./Pacific Reign Gymnastics), who also claimed vault gold at that competition; and 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships vault champion and all-around bronze medalist Amia Pugh-Banks (Newport News, Va./World Class Gymnastics).

Elite Team Cup
Sixty junior men from six regions will convene in Louisville for the annual Elite Team Cup, where team, all-around and apparatus titles will be contested. Region 3 will be aiming for yet another regional title while all athletes will be looking to claim the individual all-around gold medal.
