Heartland Soccer to Host Premier Memorial Day Weekend Tournament

Heartland Soccer Association, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host nationwide, is set to host the highly anticipated Kansas City Invitational from May 26-28th. Boasting an impressive turnout of more than 340 teams, this annual tournament has firmly established itself as one of the largest in the region. The prestigious event will take place at the acclaimed SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex and the Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex, showcasing world class facilities.

 

Bringing together teams from the Kansas City metropolitan area and various states, the Kansas City Invitational is expected to generate a substantial economic impact, estimated at $5 million throughout the tournament weekend.

 

Shane Hackett, Executive Director of the Heartland Soccer Association, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "The Kansas City Invitational has solidified its reputation as one of the most prominent Memorial Day weekend tournaments in the region. As we approach the conclusion of the spring season, this tournament serves as a fantastic culmination. We are thrilled to welcome teams from across the Midwest, offering them the opportunity to compete at our exceptional all turf soccer complexes."

 

In addition to the tournament, Heartland Soccer is bringing its esteemed Skills Challenge event to Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex during tournament weekend on Saturday, May 27. This competition is perfect for players of all ages and skill levels, and it promises to test players dribbling, shooting, and passing abilities. Registration for the Skills Challenge is now open on the event website, www.skillschallengeusa.com.

 

Recognizing the significance of local media coverage for the sport, we extend a warm invitation to the media to attend and cover this remarkable event. The tournament will kick off on Friday at 5:30 PM with the first set of games. On Saturday and Sunday, games will commence at approximately 8:00 AM, followed by the highly anticipated award ceremonies, scheduled to take place after noon on Sunday.
