USA Gymnastics has designated The Gymnastics Company in Indianapolis as the interim training center for the U.S. Women’s National Team and developmental program, pending approval of the lease by the bankruptcy court. The facility will have the equipment and availability for not only the junior and senior national team training camps, but also the camps for the age-group, developmental levels.

“We want to thank EVO Athletics and FlipFest Gymnastics Camp for providing training facilities for the women’s program for the last year-and-a-half,” said Annie Heffernon, the vice president for women’s gymnastics. “Both have worked with us to accommodate the training needs of not only the women who have their eyes set on Tokyo, but also our country’s up-and-coming young gymnasts.

“The Gymnastics Company has the facilities and availability that will allow us to have all training camps for the women’s program in one place,” said Heffernon. “This will provide the continuity and routine that is important for the gymnasts and their coaches in their training and preparation into the next Olympic quadrennium.”

EVO Athletics in Sarasota, Fla., and Flip Fest in Crossville, Tenn., have served as training locations for the women’s program since 2018.  USA Gymnastics is exploring the long-term training and wellness facility specifications and requirements as the first step in pursuing a permanent training facility for all disciplines.
