The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon has once again sold out its signature 26.2-mile distance – earlier than ever before – marking the 13th consecutive sell-out. As the 18th annual event approaches, Monumental Marathon Weekend is set to bring tens of thousands of participants, fans and spectators to the streets of downtown Indianapolis, reinforcing the city’s status as a premier destination for fall racing.
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, organizers expect 17,500 participants across the marathon, half marathon, and 5K distances, cheered on by thousands of fans across Indy’s neighborhoods and iconic downtown streets. Participants will represent all 50 states and more than 20 countries.
Race festivities begin with the Monumental Health & Fitness Expo, held Thursday, November 6, and Friday, November 7 in Halls B & C of the Indiana Convention Center. The Expo kicks off Indiana’s largest marathon weekend and will feature official 2025 Brooks Running merchandise, interactive sponsor activations, and more than 50 vendors focused on wellness, performance, and community.
“Thirteen straight sellouts – and earlier than ever – is a testament to the passion of our running community and the support of central Indiana,” said Jed Cornforth, President & CEO of Beyond Monumental. “Since 2008, we set out to create a world-class marathon for Indianapolis, and today it has become a tradition that welcomes thousands from across the globe while celebrating the spirit of our city.”
The event’s title sponsorship with CNO Financial Group marks a decade-long partnership built on a shared commitment to health and wellness.
“We are proud to return for the tenth consecutive year as the title sponsor of Indiana’s largest marathon,” said Rocco Tarasi, Chief Marketing Officer, CNO Financial Group, and Beyond Monumental board member. “It’s been remarkable to witness the event’s growth and its lasting impact on the central Indiana community. The race not only attracts elite runners from around the world, but it also generates an estimated $11.1 million for the local economy. We look forward to celebrating a memorable weekend alongside the participants, volunteers and fans who make the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon such a special event.”
Known for its fast and flat courses, the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon has become a destination for personal bests, Boston Qualifiers, and U.S. Olympic Trials dreamers. The 2024 race featured three course records and an overall event record as our largest marathon ever, adding to a tradition that has welcomed thousands of first-time marathoners and elites alike since 2008.
While the Monumental Marathon is sold out, a waitlist is available, and additional participants may be accepted as space permits. Registration for the Monumental Half Marathon and 5K is nearing capacity and will remain open while spots remain. For more information, please visit monumentalmarathon.com.
