Gold isn’t just for the Olympics. Chicago advertising agency Davis Harrison Dion and its client Visit Lake County Illinois recently took home a 2018 Gold Adrian Award for the successful “Let’s Go” travel marketing campaign.
The prestigious national award was presented February 20 at the 2018 HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala in New York City. The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International has sponsored this competition since 1956 to recognize exceptional and effective travel marketing creative.
The award-winning “Let’s Go” campaign, targeting the Chicago market, encouraged getaway leisure travel to Lake County, which is located 40 miles north of Chicago on Lake Michigan. Year over year, visitors to Lake County increased seven percent, and the average length of stay increased a full day from 1.9 to 2.9 days. The cross-platform campaign included targeted broadcast TV, digital media, outdoor and transit.
“We’re delighted that this great work has won the recognition of our peers. We want to promote Lake County as the perfect getaway, and this campaign did that memorably,” said Maureen Riedy, president of Visit Lake County.
