Plasia is hosting a Track & Field Champ Camp in DuPage County, Illinois this summer, aimed at ushering in the younger generation aiming to make its mark in the oldest sport in the world.

“The DuPage Sports Commission has collaborated with Plasia on a couple projects within the last year, focusing on creating and bringing unique experiences for the DuPage County community,” said Igor Bakovic, Director of Sports for the DuPage Sports Commission and the DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The sports commission was involved throughout the early stages of Champ Camp and looks forward to welcoming the athletes and coaches to Lisle and Benedictine University in June.”

Join the incredible coaching staff of University of Wisconsin-Madison Associate Head Track & Field Coach Kareem Jackson, University of Nebraska Assistant Track & Field Coach Brenton Emanuel, World Champion Aaliyah Brown, and Olympic Champion Justin Gatlin this summer at the one-of-a-kind Nike T&F Champ Camp

Champ Camp is the merger of athletics & technology, focusing specifically on sprints and hurdles, offering event specific training, as well as informative educational breakout sessions on training, nutrition, and college specific topics such as recruiting.

Athletes will receive instruction from historic coaches & athletes while simultaneously learning about the new landscape of amateur athletics, including name, image, and likeness, better known as NIL.

  • COACH KAREEM JACKSON

Coach Jackson was named the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Track & Field Men's Assistant Coach of the Year (Great Lakes Region), in his second year as associate head coach at Wisconsin, where he coached Lawrence Johnson to a seventh-place finish in the 60 meters at the 2023 NCAA DI Indoor Championships. His Badger athletes contributed 13 points towards Wisconsin’s winning the team title at the Big Ten Indoor Championships

COACH BRENTON EMANUEL

Coach Emanuel was named the 2023 NCAA Division 1 Indoor Track & Field Men's Assistant Coach of the Year (Midwest Region), in his second year as associate head coach at Nebraska, where he coached two Cornhusker athletes to qualify for the 2023 NCAA DI Indoor Championships: Darius Luff and Brithton Senior in the 60-meter hurdles. Luff finished third at the NCAA meet and led Nebraska’s 1-2 with Senior at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. He also guided Nick Bryant to a Big Ten title in the 600 meters with a school record of 1:15.37.

Olympic and World Champion Justin Gatlin has eight global championship 100m medals (three Olympic and five World Championship), making him the most decorated 100m sprinter of all time.

The Nike Track & Field Champ Camp helps Middle and High School athletes develop over the summer under the guidance of elite professional and college coaching, while providing practical tools to help you prepare for the upcoming season and beyond!

Camp participants should have an interest and some experience in track & field (sprints/hurdles).

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL SESSIONS

We have modified our high school program and created a separate curriculum and schedule that will be offered concurrently with the high school schedule. We feel extremely confident that this will provide a satisfying experience for these younger track & field athletes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10
  • Grouped by: age, ability, track & field experience
  • Equipment needed: Campers should bring at least one pair of broken in running shoes. Event shoes/spikes are optional. Please be sure to properly mark your equipment, so that it can be easily identified.
  • Facility: Benedictine University Track & Field stadium

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

ALL CAMPERS:

  • Extra Athletic clothing
  • 1-2 pairs of broken in running shoes/ event spikes
  • Non-running shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock
  • Snack/Sport Drink
  • Small gym bag/backpack

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
