Hawaii VCB Announces Major Fishing Tournaments

Anglers From Around the World Expected to Cast for Big Game

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) has announced the scheduling of two fishing tournaments, both of which are expected to draw anglers from around the world in pursuit of a great catch.

The Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series runs from June-September, 2013, on Oahu. Hawaii is well-known for its big-game fishing excitement and this tournament holds the best of the best. Anglers will flock to the islands in anticipation of snagging a prized marlin, yellow fin tuna, and other deep sea dwellers. The Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series captures the thrill with several events including:

Kona Kick Off– June 28-30

Firecracker Open – July 5-7

Skins Marlin Derby – July 11-14

Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series Championship – July 12-15

Big Island Marlin Tournament – August 15-18

September Challenge – September 12-15

Other fishing excitement will run from August 3-10, 2013, with the opening of the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament on Hawaii Island.

This is the 54th annual tournament, and combines five days of fishing off the beautiful Kona Coast with several other social and cultural events throughout the week.
