Top NJCAA College Baseball Teams to Compete in the Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic February 2-4

Visit Panama City Beach is pleased to announce that the third annual Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic will take place on February 2-4, 2024. Hosted by Gulf Coast State College and Visit Panama City Beach, the 16-team tournament will feature some of the best junior college baseball teams in the nation.

Preseason National Junior College rankings come out later this week, and seven to eight of the top 25 teams in the country are expected to participate in the event. Teams committed include Gulf Coast State College (FL), St. John's River College (FL), Andrew College (GA), Northwest Florida State College (FL), State College of Florida (FL), Wallace Community College (AL), Florence Darlington Technical College (SC), Chipola College (FL), Pearl River Community College (MS), Dyersburg State Community College (TN), Wabash Valley College (IL), Florida Southwestern State College (FL), McLennan Community College (TX), Meridian Community College (MS), Chattahoochee Valley Community College (AL), Miami Dade College (FL). All games will take place at Publix Sports Park managed by Sports Facility Management.

 

The 16-team bracket will start Friday, February 2, with the championship game taking place on Sunday, February 4. Perfect Game, the world’s largest baseball scouting organization, will serve as the official scouting and media coverage partner for the event. PerfectGame.TV will produce multiple games over the weekend with longtime MLB announcers Daron Sutton and Steve Phillips leading the live-streaming coverage. In addition, Perfect Game's JUCO team of Blaine Peterson and Troy Sutherland will lead the scouting coverage on PerfectGame.org and social media.

 

Many Major League Baseball and D1 College scouts will be in attendance as these NJCAA programs have produced some of the best players in the country. An MVP of the event will be named, in honor of Legendary 324 game winner Hall of Famer Don Sutton, who pitched at Gulf Coast State College.

 

Tickets for the Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic are available at $15 per day, $10 military/student day pass, and $35 for a three-day tournament pass.
