Florida’s Sports Coast Open USTA Women’s Championships On the Courts Now

This week, Florida’s Sports Coast (Pasco County, Fla.) will host the Florida’s Sports Coast Open USTA Women’s Championships. Presented by The Sarah Vande Berg Tennis and Wellness Center and BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel, the tournament will serve as Zephyrhills’ first-ever professional tennis event. Event entry is free and events are open to the public.

The USTA Women’s Championships will welcome players from across the world ranked from 200 to 800 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Pre-qualifications will occur April 12-14, 2023, followed by qualifications from April 15-17, 2023. The Main Draw will take place April 18-23, 2023. The winner of this year’s USTA Pro-Circuit event will receive a $25,000 grand prize. 

 

Florida’s Sports Coast is proud to host the first-ever USTA Women’s Championships in Zephyrhills. Home to several world-class athletic facilities such as The Sarah Vande Berg Tennis and Wellness Center, Pasco County is a premier location for regional, national and international amateur and professional sporting events, attracting athletes and travelers from across the world to compete in the coastal destination. Well-known athletes such as Yanina Wickmayer, positioned 12th in World’s, will compete in this highly-anticipated competition, and the first seed will be ranked 134 in the world.
