Gulf Coast State College and Publix Sports Park (PCB) will be hosting the second annual Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic in Panama City Beach, FL, February 3-5, 2023.
The PCB College Baseball Classic will be a three-day preseason tournament. This tournament will consist of 16 of the top junior college baseball teams from around the country. Seven of these teams finished the 2022 season ranked in the top 20. Three players who participated in last year’s tournament were drafted in the first four rounds of the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft.
"We are thrilled to partner with GCSC and Visit Panama City Beach to bring the PCB College Baseball Classic back for a second year. This is a great opportunity to see top-level major-league prospects first-hand," says Mike Higgins, General Manager of Publix Sports Park. Publix Sports Park opened in July of 2019 and has become one of the most prominent sports complexes in the country.
Gulf Coast State College will once again serve as the tournament host. “The Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic is a great opportunity for us and the other schools to play high-level competition at a great venue. We were pleased with how the first year went and are excited to give it a go again in 2023,” said Tyler Younger, Head Coach of Gulf Coast State College.
The 2023 PCB Baseball Classic is presented by Visit Panama City Beach and supported by Perfect Game. Perfect Game will once again broadcast games nationally on their PerfectGame.TV network.
