Event to Take Place October 7-10, 2015

Planning is underway for the third annual Trail Running Conference  for 2015 - dates are October 7-10, 2015 - registration opens on Monday, November 17, 2014.

Here is an overview of the conference (with more information planned):

Days 1 & 2, Wednesday October 7 & Thursday October 8 - for Trail Race Directors
Expanding on our initial event for Trail Race Directors this year, next year's sessions will cover one and a half days (half day Wednesday, full day Thursday), with a more in depth look at those subjects that were rated as most important this year.
As this year, RD's will also have the option to extend their stay for the balance of the Conference for 1 or 2 more days at a discounted rate.

Days 3 & 4, Friday October 9 & Saturday October 10 - Trail Runners
Following the success of the format this year, we will follow with two days comprising a mixture of speaker panels, interactive workshops, and an expanded range of fun runs with star trail and mountain athletes and demo opportunities.
We will be looking to add to our stellar 2014 line up of top athletes for next year - we will keep you posted!

Trail Running Film Festival: This year's trail running film festival was a huge success, featuring Trail Climbs Sharply, and the US Premiere of MUT Runner, the first movie from top Team USA athlete, Sage Canaday. We will be looking to feature 2 more films next year, most likely on Friday October 9, 2015. We will explore options to bring you the best movie package we can arrange.

ATRA prize draw: The final prize tally for the ATRA prize draw was around 70 items. The income from the prize draw, combined with 50% of the profits from the Trail Running Film Festival, ended up with a total of $1020 - a check for that sum was presented to ATRA President Adam Chase yesterday, Monday November 10. Here is a picture of Adam receiving the check from Terry Chiplin, Event Director, and Owner of Active at Altitude. A big thank you to all the trail runners that purchased tickets to the draw, and to the sponsors that kindly donated products and services

Trail Rebuilding in Estes Park: 50% of the proceeds from the Trail Running Film Festival this year went to EVRPD (Estes Vally Recreation & Parks District), for trail rebuilding projects in the Estes Valley following the floods in September 2013. Here EVRPD Executive Director Skyler Rorabaugh accepts the donation check from Terry Chiplin.
