Haute Route, the world's most prestigious multi-day event series for amateur cyclists, today announced the opening of its North American headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, also known as Olympic City USA, the heart of the nation's Olympic movement. Located on the west side of downtown Colorado Springs, the office is led by Haute Route's Head of Operations for North America, Micah Rice.

"Colorado is the heartland of American cycling, making it the ideal location for the Haute Route North American headquarters as we continue to build premium amateur cycling experiences across the U.S. and Canada," said Rice. "We chose Colorado Springs because the city is home to several national and international sports organizations, the United States Olympic Committee and USA Cycling, not to mention countless sports-minded young professionals who could be great additions to Haute Route in the future."

"The Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, in partnership with the Colorado Springs Convention Visitors Bureau and the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, is extremely pleased that our efforts were successful in establishing Colorado Springs as the headquarters for Haute Route North America. With over 60 national or international sports organizations located in our community, what better location than Olympic City USA for this organization as they grow and expand efforts to bring unparalleled cycling experiences to North America," said Tom Osborne, President & CEO of the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation.

Colorado Springs will also host the final stage of the Mavic Haute Route Rockies on June 29, 2018, which features an epic climb over 14,000 feet to the summit of Pikes Peak-America's Mountain, one of the most famous summits in the United States. The climb will bring riders to the highest point ever reached by the Haute Route.

Haute Route was created in 2010 by global sports marketing and event company OC Sport to deliver an unparalleled professional experience both on and off the bike for amateur riders. Taking place in the world's most iconic cycling destinations, the events are timed, ranked and fully supported with premium services typically reserved for the pro's. Haute Route launched its first North American event in June of 2017 with the Mavic Haute Route Rockies.
